A tribute to the North Yorkshire coastline, and a memory of a wonderful weekend of walking, good friends and (probably) too much wine. Meanwhile, out to sea, the birds jostle and crest on invisible waves of wind, seeking land but also rejoicing in the sensation of wind under wings, giving life and energy.
Anyone who knows North Yorkshire at all will see that I have played a little fast and loose with the local geography to create this image, purely to add to the drama of a windswept, salt-laden day of exploration along the coast.
A footpath leads tantalisingly past a picnic blanket and through a gate to take the viewer on a walk along the clifftops as good old mixed British weather rolls in off the sea. Light Glanced Coastline began life as a commissioned print
