Meg the Mog
The product of two unrelated incidents coinciding: the announcement of the next 1/Many Postcard round, and some devastating - and as it turned out later unfounded - news about the health of my beloved cat, Meg the Mog.
Desperate to record every inch and whisker of her, believing her near the end of her life, I carved this block as she lay napping on my lap. Then I decided Meg ought to do some good to the world, so I turned her into my 1/Many postcard offering for November 2020, and sent her image out into the world.
Happily, Meg was misdiagnosed, and only this morning walked her muddy paws fresh from the earth of the garden onto my pillow to wake me up. There’s life in the old girl yet. After her nap.

Distraught following some bad news about the health of my beloved cat, Meg, I carved this sketch of her as she curled up on my lap. The vet’s prediction happily failed to come true, and Meg survived what I thought would be her final weeks with us, and she went on to live for a further four contented years.
